The story of Stray Gods centres around Grace, a young woman in the modern day who has been imbued with the god-like power of Calliope, the last Muse of Greek mythology. While many games already include branching narrative possibilities, Stray Gods goes multiple steps further by having player choice affect everything about its music, with lyrics, instruments, arrangements, and entire performances ready to shift on a dime. Not only is Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical a rare blending of two storytelling mediums that seldom come together, it also represents one of the most ambitious and responsive video game scores to player choice ever made.
